TransEgo Therapy™ or TET is brief, outcome focused spiritual psychotherapy. Its multi-dimensional and integrated clinical approach offers a new therapeutic model for therapists and clients who are open to looking at life from a spiritual perspective. TET is ideal for individuals wanting to desensitize specific triggers, work through a loss, a somatic complaint, an episode of sadness or stress, or who would like to get clarity on a specific question. TET may be as brief as three sessions and can be offered during regular face-to-face sessions, as well as via the telephone.
TransEgo Therapy
resonates with transpersonal psychology, recognizing that the meaning-giving quality of life goes beyond the physical realm or—more accurately put—the egoic consciousness. As human beings, we will reach our full potential when we align our physical expressions with our spiritual intent. What does all this mean and how is this relevant to psychotherapy?
When we leave the realm of linear thought, we become conscious
of a reality in which everything is reciprocally and spiritually
interconnected. Every moment offers an opportunity for spiritual
growth, even when we are going through a divorce or
lose employment.
When we travel through life, unaware of its pervasive spiritual richness, we increase the likelihood to get stuck in an emotional charge. Rather than to embrace the emotion’s underlying wisdom and move with its flow, we brace and dig in—perpetuating the pain.
- "I was brought into a calm and relaxed state, and then my issue causing fear and anxiety was reintroduced. I no longer feel that initial anxiety and fear."
- .
- "I find that after each session, I have more clarity on what to do next and feel at peace with in the now."
- "It gave me great peace about where I am in my life. It all seems to fit into the plan."
- .
- "Amazing how significant the part of foot tapping & reverse counting played, creating better balance!"
- "What has been very useful in the weeks following is that I can more easily jar my thoughts out of a negative pattern by either recalling the positive scene from the session or by repeating the tapping technique."
-
"I have to tell you , my whole being has changed! I get up early, and very cheerful, and go for a walk/run, and my day just gets better! I am amazed! You got me out of my funk! I will forever be grateful to you!"

TransEgo Therapy
is based on the premise that emotional problems, such as sadness
and stress, are related to over-identification with the ego.
“Ego” in this context refers to a sense-of-self that is derived
from the societal roles we play and the limiting
thought-structures we have adopted.
TET
is a clinical intervention that helps clients regain
consciousness, realigning them with their spiritual purpose.
As soon as
we become aware of our spiritual essence and intent, we—once again—can direct life effectively and create a meaningful existence. TransEgo Therapy facilitates an awakening process in which the client transcends the ego and becomes both observer and observee: simultaneously experiencing the situation and viewing herself in a spiritual perspective. From that vantage point, she witnesses the unfolding of an intrinsic healing process— insights emerge, emotional blockages transform, and an altered state of being is reached."To be truly honest as we were starting I had a little voice in my head say "This isn't going to work." But by the end there was a real improvement. I also appreciate that there wasn't a lecture on ego, it was all about experiencing the higher consciousness. Very powerful."
TransEgo Therapy
is an experiential clinical intervention. During the session,
the therapist asks the client to step into the problematic
situation. Subsequently, the client is invited to go into a
meditative state and is guided to observe the challenging
situation as a more conscious observer. To aid this process, the
ever-active mind of the client is given assignments to “get out
of the way.” From this place of “mindlessness,” the client
releases Self-limiting subconscious thought-structures and
allows a natural process of resilience to occur and wisdom to
surface. Since the
sequence is experiential in nature, the gains are not just on a
cognitive level: the shifts are likely to be permanent.
"I felt very calm, comfortable, and very relaxed. Also, I saw the therapist as someone totally interested in my well being. His voice and manner were soothing."
TransEgo Therapy
is rooted in many therapeutic disciplines, such as Brief
Outcome Focused Therapy, Transpersonal and Positive Psychology,
Focusing (Gendlin), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and
Ericksonian hypnotherapy.
TET
has a firm structure; however, whenever the client becomes aware
of a certain sensation or insight, the therapist allows space
for
exploration—even if this interrupts the sequence. The format
is always secondary to the client’s process. While
TET was developed for telephone
sessions, it can easily be integrated in traditional counseling.
TET has been effective
in people struggling with a variety of concerns, ranging from
deeply ingrained emotional scars—“I
was able to deal with a deep core
emotion; it was quite profound and healing”—to
very concrete and
measurable performance issues.
"The experience was pleasant. At first I thought - how can change be so simple? Yet, change is happening."
Typically, TransEgo Therapy
lasts three sessions, during which the focus is diverted from
the “problem” to what the client wants to manifest.
At
the end of the last session, the client and therapist may decide
to continue. In that case, the therapeutic relationship takes on
the characteristics of mindful Life Coaching.
